COACH: Simes Carter
What makes me want to be a coach is simple: I’m here to help kids. Not just in softball, but in life. I always think about where some of these kids might be if they didn’t have sports — whether they’d be getting into trouble, hanging around the wrong places, or doing things they shouldn’t be doing. Keeping kids involved in sports is important, and I truly believe it can change the direction of their lives.
I love coaching softball because I love developing kids. For me, it’s not all about winning. I’m not out here chasing trophies or plastic rings. I’m here to build players, to build confidence, and to help these athletes get to the collegiate level someday. That’s the real reward.
I started coaching about 12 years ago, and I never imagined I’d be where I am today in the softball world. Joining Prodigy was one of the best decisions I ever made. Having an organization that supports you, and coaches who show up to help whenever you need it — that’s something special.
I have two daughters who play softball, one in 18U and one in 14U, but even when they age out, I know I’ll still be out here. I love the sport that much. I love coaching these kids, supporting their families, and being on the field. This is where I’m meant to be.
